Prince Character
Original concept

This project was created as a way of pushing my creative limits. Inspired by the fantasy genre, I aimed to create a stylized Prince. By working on this project, my aim was to create a completely original character all on my own.

This project started by getting inspiration from other stylized artists. I used these reference images to build my character's head, face, body, and costume.

For this particular project, I began by modeling out the body and head. From there, I imported the character into ZBrush to manipulate the proportions and then sculpted the finer details. By doing this, I created a base foundation while keeping proper topology.

Texturing was done in Substance Painter, where I developed layered materials to enhance depth and stylization.
I was responsible for creating all textures except for the cape and scarf patterns. Those patterns were designed by Garry Killian on freepik.com.

Both the scarf and cape were created from scratch, in Marvelous Designer.

While figuring out what clothes to give to the character, I constantly thought of Disney's Frozen and Lionhead Studio's Fable II & Fable III. This helped me create the overall aesthetic.

The clothing I chose was made to help push the character's story. The colors were carefully selected to represent the character's nobility and social status.

Finally, I crafted the hair in Maya’s XGen. I attempted to carefully balance a long flowing hair aesthetic, while being accompanied by a somewhat conservative and controlled look.
I made sure to create natural movement to complement the character’s design, once again, taking real world and stylized aesthetics into consideration.
